In celebration of christening the new club rooms, it was a great day for the Razorbacks in the Pig Pen. All of the past players for Swinburne were invited down to the opening of the new rooms and this combined with our annual family day saw the crowd numbers equal possibly the highest any Razorback has seen.

With all this expectation of performing in front of a crowd and on a very warm but football friendly afternoon saw the Pigs start-off the senior game relatively slow allowing the "new kids" in the VAFA, Point Cook to jump to an early 4 goal to 1 lead. Captain Adam Hyman copped a body to the head in a "tunnelling" event as the umpire called it and was taken from the ground but the boys stuck out the hard first ten minutes and managed to draw back the 3 goal advantage against the wind and both teams went into quarter time even on the scoreboard.

The second quarter saw the emergence of first gamer Ash Philipps, whose run and creativity off the wing opened up opportunities not only for himself but for the whole forward line. A spectacular sight was the return of injured Hyman back into the middle and his hardness at the ball saw multiple clearances land in the hands of capable runners giving an avenue to goal. Excellent contributions from the roving small forwards in Lee Dalton and Tom Haeusler and a cameo up forward from David Elliman saw the Pigs run away with the honours for the quarter going into the main break with a 5 goal lead.

Against the wind in the third quarter, it was always going to be hard to negate Point Cook and credit was due to Swinburne's solid backline, who lost key backman Phil Wild to an ankle injury and had to double team Point Cooks big man Aaron Marsh to try and stem the flow of his influence on the game. Great ruckwork from Jimmy Lees and Josh Carrol gave first hands to our midfield and the use of run and carry to move the ball forward out of the backline saw Swinburne win the quarter and go into the last with the wind and a handy lead to build on.

A quick two goals in the last quarter saw a physically spent Point Cook team lose concentration, with the game opening right up and the experience on the smaller ground saw Swinburne begin to open large cracks in Point Cooks defence. Roydon Hurst and Matt Bonomi were major contributors this quarter blowing the score out from almost 40 points to give the Razorbacks a 77 point win and the first since the new clubrooms had been opened. The Razorbacks are now 2 wins from 2 games in both seniors and reserves. Let's hope the form continues next week against Richmond Central.

Three things happened in this game that i can comment on

- Shane Colless (aka the wild porpoise) flew quite high for a pack mark but had slightly mistimed his "hanger", resulting in him hitting the ground before the ball did.

-Sam Harrison (Harro) for taking one of the best diving, over-the-head, one-handed grabs in Razorback history. Well done mate.

- The razorbacks held Point Cook scoreless in the second quarter to lead by a heavy margin going into half time. In some of the razorbacks players' opinions later, the game was already over.
